Changing brake pads?

How much would a shop charge to change all 4 brake pads on my 350z?Changing brake pads?
Depending on the shop I'd say at minimum $200 if it's just to change them, if there is more work to be done, say turning the rotors then maybe a couple hundred more bucksChanging brake pads?
There's no way to answer that until the brakes are inspected. Be aware that brake shops want to change every part in sight and they will be sure to tell you how 'unsafe' your brakes are in their present condition. Many visits will cost around $400.

Look carefully at what parts and work they want to do and don't go for all their sales points.
There are 8 pads.

Check on Nissan Z forums and see if there's someone that will help you do it yourself. It's not that hard.

there are two answers really if you need rotors which is typical on non-brembo models it could cost $200.00 per axle plus additional fees for the rotors on the front only which tend to lip out and become to risky to machine.. although brembo models have better design and should be able to machine rotors..

How do i change the rear brake pads on my 01 mustang?

I have the original pads off and I squeezed the new pads in but I cant get the pistion back in. Is there a certian way to put mustang pads in or no? is the piston supose to be that hard to push back in? I have used a c clamp but its not working. How do i change the rear brake pads on my 01 mustang?
The system uses the parking brake, The system is called an ' Integrated parking brake system ' and requires a special tool to turn the piston as it is pushed in.How do i change the rear brake pads on my 01 mustang?
YOU NEED A BRAKE CALIPER TOOL. THIS TOOL IS USE TO TURN THE BRAKE CALIPER PISTONS BACK INTO THE BRAKE CALIPERS. BEFORE TURNING THE BRAKE PISTONS, YOU NEED TO LOOSEN THE BRAKE BLEED SCREW ON THE CALIPER. THIS WILL PREVENT THE BRAKE FLUID FROM PUSHING AGAINST THE ABS PUMP OR MASTERCYLINDER WHILE TURNING THE BRAKE PISTONS BACK IN. AFTER YOU TURN THE BRAKE CALIPER PISTONS BACK IN, CLOSE THE BLEEDER SCREW. LUBRICATE THE BRAKE PAD ENDS AND BRAKE CALIPER SLIDING PINS TO PREVENT THE BRAKE PADS FROM RUBBING AGAINST THE BRAKE ROTORS ALL THE TIME.PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL A FEW TIMES UNTIL IT GET HARD AND THE PEDAL IS ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP. CHANGE THE BRAKE FLUID IF IT IS NOT CLEAR TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO OTHER BRAKE PARTS. TORQUE THE LUG NUTS TO 90 FT. LB. (BEFORE AND AFTER A 5 MILES TEST DRIVE. DO NOT MAKE ANY PANIC STOP OR APPLY HARD BRAKE. THIS WILL OVER HEAT THE BRAKE PADS AND REDUCE THE BRAKE FRICTION AND NOISE

EZ to read. lots of pix.

There is a reason they have been around since 1922.
You dont use a c clamp, you have to twist the piston back in with a rear caliper tool.

Changing brake pads on a 1991 laser i gopt the brakes off and the disc/rotar thing was loose?

and just came off how does the rotar go back on without being loose or is it ok just to put back onChanging brake pads on a 1991 laser i gopt the brakes off and the disc/rotar thing was loose?
This is normal, when you reinstall the pad's just push it back into place

install the pad's the wheel,AKA the rim is what holds the rotor's in place when you tighten the lug nut's. Good luck.Changing brake pads on a 1991 laser i gopt the brakes off and the disc/rotar thing was loose?
Put it back on just like you took it off. Tip when you go to put the new shoes on you will need a C clamp to help you push the piston in make sure that the piston goes as far as it can go. Then put back on rotor tighten the two bolts. then do the same to the other side. when don check your break fluid. top off if needed.
The rotor is held on by the wheel when it is put back on and the combination of the brake pads and caliper. your ok no problems that i see.

have fun and tighten everything and use antiseize on all sliders.
the rotor in some cars is held on by two little screws on others its held in place by the tire rim and bolts

no worrys just slap it on there but wait did you get them resurfaced you should since you replaced the pads..
I think on those cars the lug nuts hold everything together everything should be fine
It's supposed to be loose.. The caliper and pads hold it tight along with your wheel being pressed against it.
your caliper holds the rotor on, on some cars, best thing to do is look in the maintenance manual hope that helps,

cost of pads+ cost of labor if ur not gonna do the work ureself....How much does it cost to change the brake pads of the car?
I paid 148.00 for brake pads on a Chevy S-10 1998 truck. Which they forgot to put on when they did my brake job! That was not at the dealer either.
    Hello,

it depends on which pads, front or rear, what make of vehicle and are you going to DIY or taking to a garage. The average cost of fitting front pads to a popular car, Fiesta, would be about 拢25 plus the cost of the pads. Some places have a price list, mostly tyre and exhaust stations, Quick-fit and the like. Pads can cost the earth if you buy from car manufacturers but will cost less if you go non genuine. Hope that helps.

    Regards Chris.

How do you change the front brake pads on a suzuki scooter?

Its a 1996 AP50, The bit I'm confused about is the brake-fluid, do you have to release it first, if so how?How do you change the front brake pads on a suzuki scooter?
Remove caliper/with a toothbrush and some brake cleaner solution clean the pistons before returning them into the caliper bores.

    Leaving the old pads installed...

Use a flat blade screwdriver between old pads and gently push/pry the pistons back to give clearance for the new pads to fit over the caliper. Leaving the old pads in and pushing against them assures you dont damage anything and gives a solid surface to return the pistons back to the resting position.

The brake fluid will be forced back into the master cylinder/ be sure it does not become overfull.(remove it's cover)

Now remove the lock clip and pin or pins that support the old pads and remove them.

Look to see the pistons are both returned completely into their cylinders in the caliper body.

If need be slip the old pads back into the caliper and pry some more gently returning pistonsfor proper clearance. Clean well all surfaces and buff or wire wheel the pins of all dirt and rust/shine them up!

If anything seems wrong ie siezed rusty pistons/ replace! If pistons are siezed take the calipers to a shop for rebuilding or ask more questions here!

Install pads with fibre facing rotor/metal side facing piston.

Install caliper and pump brake to bring pad into contact with rotor and spin wheel to see if all is free and not binding.

Check brake fluid and adjust as necessary replsce cap and ride on/ if you have not allowed air into the system you should not have to bleed it!

It's not rocket science and you should be able to do this yourself if you have some metric tools.

Flush and replace brake fluid every two years!

Suck it out the master cyl reservoir and bleed it out the caliper. How do you change the front brake pads on a suzuki scooter?
The braking system on a bike or car should NEVER be touched by person who doesnt know exactly what they are doing !! Please take your scoot to a motorcycle shop to have the pads fitted. Its allot cheaper to pay a mechanic to fit your pads than to do it yourself potentialy kill yourself due to brake failure.
