Has anyone changed the brake pads on a 98 gmc jimmy?

My husband is trying to change the brake pads on a 98 gmc jimmy. But he cannot get the old ones off. Does anyone know how to or know any websites that can help?Has anyone changed the brake pads on a 98 gmc jimmy?

Take a screw driver and wedge it between the rotor and brake pad and compress the piston in as he can so he can get the new brakes in as well.
