If you have never done it before I suggest you not try it on your own. Your life depends on it. Maybe you can find someone who is familiar with the job.
Your best bet is just pay the mechanic to do it.
Good luck! How can I change brake pads on my car by myself? Is there a website that tells how to do that?
What grandma g said.
first take off the tire, in the back of the metal wheel there's a tube, unscrew the tube and slide the pad off, replace it snap back and replace the tube, replace the tire and pupm the air out
Lets get this right, you do want to do it yourself, why? cheaper or you want the mechanical know how? It is not a good idea, look for a friendly mechanic and tell him you want to see it done, please, do not risk your (and others) life by doing yourself till you really know what you are doing, if done incorrectly the braking won't be even or safe. I do admire you for wanting to do it, just learn how first, then get checked before you go out.
When you buy brakes they come with instructions in the box.
Ask whom ever sell's you the brakes what tools you will need...
sure, what better way for you to learn how to be a mechanic than to start out on some thing that if you mess up you can get someone killed.
not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
you can get it at www.haynes.com, www.gearheadcafe.com you can get cd on certain vehicles there. or go to your local parts store and buy a repair manual there.
