Brakes are never covered by warranty. Take it to the dealership and have them just put pads on.Thats all you'll need if u even need that.
you shouldnt need to change the brakes yet anyway man... They should be 60k or sumthing, if there is sumthing up with them already, it should be covered by warranty. No way your brakes should be out already.

As long as you are mechanically inclined... brakes are simple to change. I recommend buying a repair manual if you are uncomfortable doing this job.



More then likely, you will be able to change the brake pads and not require the rotors to be machined or replaced. Once you have the wheels off, thoroughly inspect the rotors. Look for heat cracks in the metal, deep gouges (should be smooth surface), or severe rusting. If you have a brake pulsation, you may have warped rotors... and require replacement.

Go to a car parts store and buy the repair book for you car. If your not too short on cash, I would suggest the possibility of just buying loaded calipers and replacing the whole set rather than try to mess with replacing the pads. It's a lot faster. Be sure you have some medieval tools to break the bolts on the calipers, they will be tight. If all this sounds like greek to you, better just stomach up the money and take it to a shop or be really nice to someone who can do this for you!

Jack it up, take the wheel off, take the caliper loose with a socket-wrench, unclip the pads, put new ones on, put the caliper back on, put the tire back on, and take it off the jack.
